ASOLO CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR NUBUCK LEATHER

WHY YOU SHOULD LOOK AFTER YOUR NUBUCK LEATHER BOOTS

Nubuck leather is a high-quality natural material. It requires regular maintenance in order to ensure it remains that way. With proper cleaning and care, you can prolong the life of your Asolo boots and enjoy them for years. Remember, well-kept boots will not only look great, but they’ll also have a longer lifespan.

LET YOUR NUBUCK LEATHER BOOTS TAKE A BREATHER

Keep in mind that after a long day of walking through city streets, insoles will absorb moisture. To keep your boots fresh, remove the insoles and allow them to dry completely before putting them back in again.

KEEPING YOUR NUBUCK LEATHER BOOTS CLEAN

Dirty boots should always be cleaned before being stored. Before cleaning your Asolo boots, remove the laces and insoles. Using a quality brush, you can easily clean an average level of dirt from the upper and sole. For higher dirt levels, we recommend using specifically designed shoe care products which you can find in a wide range of sports and shoe stores.

DRYING YOUR NUBUCK LEATHER BOOTS

Both full grain and nubuck leather are sensitive to higher temperatures, so always make sure that your boots dry at room temperature in a ventilated space. Take care not to place boots too closely to a radiator, fireplace, or other heat source, including heated floors, as the leather can become brittle and even crack. If you have washed the inside of your boots, you can remove excess water by stuffing them with newspaper and leave them for a half an hour. And always dry the boots completely before wearing them again.

MAINTAINING NUBUCK LEATHER

Unlike full grain leather, nubuck and suede require special cream treatments to eliminate the risk of the upper drying out. Using a specialized nubuck care product and a sponge, you can quickly treat the surface of your boots to make them look like new. Avoid using wax-based products, as these can clog the leather. A good brush is also a must-have for your boots’ maintenance, as regular brushing easily refreshes the appearance of both nubuck and suede. Specialized suede brushes can even remove scuffs and marks.

STORING NUBUCK LEATHER BOOTS

Take care of your boots, even when you’re not wearing them! Store your Asolo nubuck leather boots in cool, dry and well ventilated room. Never store boots on heated floors, as the higher temperatures can cause damage to the sole and to the upper.

ASOLO CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FULL GRAIN LEATHER

WHY IS IT CRUCIAL TO MAINTAIN FULL GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS?

Full grain leather is a natural material that acts like a second skin. Consequently, it should be cared for properly to maintain it to a high standard of quality. If they are well-kept and maintained, Asolo boots won’t be damaged by moisture and dirt, looking like new for longer.

GIVE YOUR BOOTS SOME AIR

After a long day, take out the insoles of your boots to allow them to dry naturally. They absorb moisture and will dry much quicker outside of your boots. If you’ve been walking through the rain, you should ideally allow your boots to dry for 24 hours before wearing them again.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR LEATHER BOOTS

Always clean dirty boots before putting them away. Before cleaning the boots, remove the laces and insoles and brush away any dirt from the leather upper. For average dirt levels, use a brush, lukewarm water and soap, which you can also use to clean the sole. If your boots are very dirty, you’ll need specialized shoe cleaning products developed for leather, which are available in most shoe and sports shops.

BRUSH YOUR BOOTS WITH SHOE POLISH OR WAX TO KEEP THEM IN GOOD SHAPE, AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE.

Remember, cleaning your boots with water will open up the pores and strip the layer of protection on the full grain leather. To ensure your boots remain suitable for rainy weather, reproof the boots with wax-based shoe care products or shoe polish to restore the protective layer and make the boots waterproof.

DRYING YOUR LEATHER BOOTS

If you’re cleaning leather boots with water and soap, you should leave them out to dry completely before applying reproofing treatments. If you’ve cleaned inside the boots, stuff pieces of newspaper in the interior to remove excess water and keep your boots at room temperature for 24 hours to dry them. Keep in mind that higher temperatures can damage the leather and cause it to crack, so make sure that your boots are kept away from radiators, open fireplaces, or any other type of heat source as they dry.

REPROOFING LEATHER

Every time you clean your boots with water or other cleaning products, you open up the pores on the surface of the leather, which in turn makes the boots absorb water more easily. By reproofing the leather, you can quickly close the pores and ensure that your boots remain waterproof. Ideally, apply the reproofing product in one layer and allow it to dry before applying the second layer. This type of treatment protects the leather from water, dirt and damage, but also against wear and tear.

TYPES OF REPROOFING PRODUCTS FOR FULL GRAIN LEATHER

Shoe polish and wax-based shoe care and leather care products are ideal for maintaining full grain leather boots. Liquid reproofing products can also be used as a base coat. Keep in mind that unlike standard treatments, boots treated with Gore-Tex® waterproof technology require a special reproofing treatment. You can also reproof them using silicone-based products.

HOW OFTEN DO YOUR LEATHER BOOTS NEED REPROOFING?

It depends on how often you wear them and their level of use. Look out for signs of water absorption: darker spots and water bleeding into the leather. Well-maintained leather boots should always repel water, not absorb it. Wax-based products and shoe polish can be applied even daily to keep the boots in top shape and to prolong their lifespan.

STORING FULL GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS

Asolo leather boots should always be stored in a dry, cool and ventilated space. Don’t store wet leather boots in a car or in an unventilated room, as they’ll be in danger of becoming moldy or discolored. Never place your boots on a heated floor – the heat not only reduces the lifespan of the sole by drying out the rubber, but it may also cause damage to the leather upper.

Remember – your Asolo boots need regular care to keep them looking fantastic for years. If you have any other questions about maintaining full grain leather boots, get in touch with us!

ASOLO CARE INSTRUCTIONS – TEXTILE AND SYNTHETIC MATERIALS

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO REGULARLY CARE FOR TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS?

By maintaining your Asolo boots in good shape, you can significantly prolong their lifespan and ensure that dirt and water don’t cause lasting damage.

LET YOUR BOOTS BREATHE

Remove insoles after longer trips and dry them separately. This allows both the insoles and the boots to dry quicker.

CLEANING TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS

Never leave boots dirty and never stow them away before cleaning them first. For best results, remove the insoles and laces before cleaning or brushing the surface of the boots. In most cases, you’ll only need lukewarm water and soap. But for a higher dirt level, you should always use specialized products designed for shoes. These are easily found in shoe and sports stores.

If you want to restore your boots’ water-repellent properties, simply use a reproofing treatment to add a layer of protection.

DRYING TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS

Always dry your textile / synthetic boots at temperatures below 37°C. You can let them dry naturally in a ventilated room. Never place boots close to a fireplace or radiator, as textiles and synthetic materials can shrink and become damaged by overheating.

REPROOFING TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS

Water and cleaning products open the pores of the boots’ materials, removing their waterproof properties. By using a reproofing treatment, you can easily make your boots water-repellent again while also preserving their breathability. Apply one layer of reproofing and leave it to dry completely before applying a second layer.

HOW OFTEN DO YOUR TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS NEED REPROOFING?

Depending on use, your boots may need frequent or less frequent reproofing treatments. If the textile or synthetic material shows signs of water absorption – dark sports on the instep fold, for example – you need to apply a reproofing treatment. Well-maintained textile and synthetic boots will repel water and not absorb it, ensuring that your feet stay dry even in rainy weather. This type of treatment also greatly extends the lifespan of the boots.

TYPES OF REPROOFING PRODUCTS FOR TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS

Unlike full grain leather boots, textile and synthetic uppers only require liquid reproofing treatments. For boots treated with Gore-Tex® technology, always use specially developed products; this includes silicone-based products.

STORING TEXTILE / SYNTHETIC BOOTS

Ideally, you should store your Asolo boots in a cool dry and well-ventilated room. Never leave wet boots inside your car or in a poorly ventilated space, as moisture can cause molding and discoloration. Never leave boots directly on a heated floor, as the heat can cause serious damage to the sole and even decrease the boots’ lifespan.

Much like leather boots, synthetic and textile boots need proper care to keep them in perfect shape. With these simple steps, you can ensure that your Asolo boots will look great for a long time. Do you have any questions that are not included on this page?
